Finding My Way Back Through the Lens
Share
I think I lost my way a little…
Not all at once. Not in a big, obvious moment.
Just gradually… quietly… somewhere along the line.
Trying to do too much.
Trying to be too many things at once.
And somehow, without really noticing when it happened… I drifted.
This was never meant to be about selling.
Yet lately, it feels like that’s what it became.
Prints. Posts. Trying to push things. Trying to “fit” into what works.

But the truth is… I’m not a salesman.
I never have been. And I don’t want to be.
So why did I start treating this like I am?
This page… this journey… started for a very different reason.
It began after my stroke.
A time where everything slowed down.
Where even the simplest things felt like mountains to climb.
Getting outside wasn’t just “a nice walk”…
It was progress.
Picking up the camera wasn’t just “taking photos”…
It was proof.
Proof that recovery was possible.
Proof that I was still here.
Still moving forward.

And those photos?
They weren’t about perfection.
They weren’t about trends, tips, or trying to keep up with anyone else.
They were real.
They were honest.
They were mine.
Simple moments in nature that helped quiet the noise in my mind.
But somewhere along the way, I started posting like everyone else.
Chasing what works.
Looking at what others are doing.
Trying to shape my page into something it was never meant to be.
And in doing that… I lost the most important part of it all.
Me.
So this is me drawing a line.
Not in frustration… but in clarity.
I’m going back to what this was always about.
Getting outside.
Taking photos that mean something to me.
Sharing moments that reflect the journey, not the algorithm.
That doesn’t mean I won’t create things…

I still like the idea of a monthly framed photo.
A small collection of bookmarks.
Greeting cards.
A blog like this.
But they won’t lead the way anymore.
They’ll follow the journey… not define it.
Because at the heart of it all, this has never been about selling a picture.
It’s about what that picture represents.
A step forward.
A moment of peace.
A reminder that even after everything… there is still something beautiful to hold onto.
So if things feel a little different from here on…
That’s why.
I’m not changing direction.
I’m returning to it.
